If you read this and are Australian, Hamish and Andy are probably not a surprise to you.  However, if you are outside of Oz, and haven’t heard of them, they are hilarious.

They are often on Rove McManus’ show, Rove Live, in Australia…who is also pretty funny in my opinion.  They have recently however been on Jay Leno.  My Mom asked me if I’d seen them.  Admittedly, it’s been a while.  Then, my sister-in-law told me about this particular skit of theirs and so I had to find it.

It’s one of my faves.  This might be bad karma actually posting this…I fear my own boys doing this to me one day.

I first saw the Scared Weird Little Guys, a musical comedy act from Australia, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, in Scotland.  They are hilarious.

They do this great song about all the wildlife in Australia that could kill you…and there are many.  My Mom was constantly paranoid (thanks to Steve Irwin) when I first moved there, calling me and reminding me to check my shoes for red back spiders before I put them on, and things like that.

I have to say though, that I am much less afraid (my husband would comment that this is not saying much) than I used to be of spiders and snakes.  They are SO much bigger and badder in Australia that I became a bit desensitized to the smaller, less deadly variety that we have here in the U.S.

Well, except for brown recluse.  Those are down right scary no matter how small.

Anyway…here’s the song.  Have a listen, have a laugh.

This is a “video” of linked together high definition photographs.  The artist, Keith Loutit from Australia, uses tilt-shift and time lapse photography to produce these amazing short films.  This one, of a Green Peace Anti-Whaling demonstration on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia is one of my favorites.  It’s a bit long, but even if you don’t watch the entire thing, just take a look…it’s really amazing.  And remember, it’s not a video, it’s photographs linked together.

I think this video might be making the email rounds since I received it from my mother-in-law this morning, but thought I’d share it anyway.

It was submitted by a 20 year old for an AARP (American Association of Retired People) contest titled ‘U at 50′.  Make sure you watch it all the way to the end.  It’s very clever.
